Why is it called Laurel Soap? And why is it famous? Its name is derived from its main ingredient: oil from the berries of the laurel tree, a perennial tree that grows in the Mediterranean basin and was considered sacred in civilizations like the Romans and Assyrians. It is handmade using the “cold saponification” method with olive oil and laurel oil only, without additives. Herein lies the secret… The simplicity of the composition is matched by a deep effectiveness that commercial soaps cannot achieve, no matter how varied they are. It became famous because it was used in cleaning royalty, treating skin diseases, and because the skin, after using it, needs nothing… and doesn’t complain.
Benefits of Laurel Soap:
- Deeply cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural oils.
- Reduces bacteria and fungi that cause acne or irritation.
- Helps soothe mild skin inflammation.
- Moisturizes thanks to olive oil and nourishes the skin with natural Vitamin E.
- Safe for sensitive skin, children, and adults alike.
How does it work? Laurel soap works intelligently.
- Laurel oil contains antimicrobial compounds (like lauric acid and cineole) that eliminate harmful bacteria while leaving beneficial bacteria intact, maintaining the skin’s natural balance.
- Olive oil contains squalene, a substance similar to the oils produced by the skin, which moisturizes from within, reduces water loss, and prevents skin tightening after washing.
- It contains no fragrances, preservatives, or excessive foaming… making it ideal for skin tired from many products.
How to use:
- Moisten the soap with lukewarm water.
- Rub it between your hands until a light foam forms.
- Apply the foam to your face or body using circular motions.
- Leave it on for 30 seconds (depending on skin type).
- Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.
It can be used once or twice daily as needed. For best results, follow up with a light moisturizer using natural oil or a gentle cream.
